Das Trio pastoral war zunächst als einsätziges Werk in variabler Besetzung geplant (in der Endfassung der letzte Satz-Final), sowohl für Oboe, Violoncello und Klavier als auch für Flöte, Viola und Harfe. In beiden Besetzungen kam dieser Satz mehrfach zur Aufführung bevor den Komponisten 2004 der überraschende Tod der ersten Klavierlehrerin des Komponisten Ursula Fleck bewog, das Werk zu einem dreisätzigen Trio zu erweitern. Diese endgültige Fassung für Flöte, Englischhorn und Klavier ist einerseits als eine persönliche Charakterstudie der Widmungsträgerin und ebenso als posthume Freundschaftserklärung an sie zu verstehen, sowie gleichzeitig eine Komposition für das Trio LuDiAl, dem der Komponist selbst angehört.

Das Trio LuDiAl mit Luciano Tristaino - Flöte, Dirk-Michael Kirsch - Englischhorn und Alessandra Gentile - Klavier spielte das Werk auf CD ein, welche beim italienische label rara-records erschienen ist (www.rara.it).

The Trio pastoral was originally meant to be in one movement for varying combinations (in the utlimative version the last movement - Final), manely for oboe, cello and piano or for flute, viola and harp. In both combinations the work had several performances, until the unexpected death of Ursula Fleck, the first piano teacher of the composer to expand the piece to a three-movement trio. This definitive version for flute, cor anglais and piano is meant to be an essay on the dedicatees personal character as well as a posthumous declaration of friendship for her, but at the same time also a cmposition for the "Trio-LuDiAl", of which the composer himself is a member.

The "Trio LuDiAl" - Luciano Tristaino (flute), Dirk-Michael Kirsch (cor anglais) and Alessandra Gentile (piano) - has recorded the work an CD for the Italian label (www.rara.it).
